I don't know if anyone I know used to like assembling war vehicles.. miniature models made with various shades of plastic. I know my fighter planes were my favourites, especially the Hurricanes, though they were almost torturous to piece together. I believe I still have one or two battleships hidden somewhere in The Toybox.. Anyway, we were dismantling the SM1 today, taking out the whole railing, and then removing the roller wheels one by one.. then I was thinking about how this scenario looked so familiar when it suddenly hit me; I did exactly the same thing 10 years ago, except I held the tank with both hands, rather pudgy ones at that. The set-up is almost exactly the same; the wheels, the headlights, the little piece sticking out which I know now is a knob, which I can't remember the function.. even the turrent, though it's rather menacing close-up. It was almost magical. I mean, I could have gone on like forever not knowing I was quietly realising one of my childhood dreams.. how's that for a bad memory. Who would have thought I'll be sitting on a REAL tank, messing about like a PRO tank mechanic?

Seriously, other than some very severe hiccups, it's been a pretty fun ride so far. Dental surgery looms this friday.. and I have total entertainment lined up for sat. Swimming/soccer, then a serious lan session with the S13 guys, followed by dinner.. argh, this appointment better not spoil my week. But then, removing four teeth can be a major sore. I've already got enough on my plate wrestling with the info regarding SM1, and el migraine looks set to resurface.

Been reading this book titled Decline and Fall, written by some post-war author by the name of Evelyn Waugh. It's supposed to be part of my Literature syllabus, though calculations done earlier today showed I need not worry so much, but anyway.. it's a tragic comedy. The characters are ridiculously funny, yet in a sad way.. that kind of scenario where you laugh for the moment, then end up in tears. I don't really get what I'm trying to say here; hope someone, anyone, does anyway. It's really a tale whereby the protagonist reaches great heights of bliss and happiness, only to drop lower than where he was even before, at least that's the message I get reading at 11pm and 6am every day.. Teck says it's supposed to be hilarious, so I gather a cynical side of him I've possibly missed. Thank goodness I'm still alive.

Eating chocolate was supposed to be a remedy to make one happy.. I devoured a whole bar yesterday and still felt depressed. Guess I'll have to find a newer solution.

Wish I could erase some things as easily as I delete a blog entry. It seems a trifle harder in real life. Maybe I could invent a "SAVE GAME/LIFE" machine, then store particular periods of time in life worth remembering, re-winding when things go wrong.. who cares about the extra dimensions created, think no one would mind; I certainly don't.
